BEST OF THE YEAR 🍴

What an incredible year of eating that literally brought me all over the world! From NYC of course to Japan, Italy, LA, Houston, Detroit, and so much more! It was so difficult to try and narrow this down, but what I did was make a best of “Bites” and best of “Meals”, which you can watch below, and here is my list of the best sandwiches I ate in 2024! Because you know I love a sandwich!

1) 7-Eleven Japan

Had to start with my all time favorite egg salad sando! There is literally nothing like it, and I CANNOT wait to be back in Japan in just a few weeks eating more! WATCH HERE

2) Utopia Bagel

Utopia stands at the top of the elite NYC bagel list! So take your pick for what you want to order, but Ill get an Everything Egg Bagel with lox, scallion cream cheese, and avo (although theirs is a smashed avo). WATCH HERE

3) Edith’s Sandwich Counter

Almost impossible for me to choose just one sandwich here as my favorite, but I’m going to pick their tuna melt on seeded rye which has their giardiniera tuna and a mix of cooper sharp and swiss. WATCH HERE

4) Daybird

Daybird in LA has one of my favorite fried chicken sandwiches ever, but this year I finally got a taste of their fish sandwich with a yuzu tartar sauce, and to that I added on CAVIAR! Making it one of the more expensive sandwiches you can get. Is it neccessary? No. Is it amazing? YES! WATCH HERE

5) Radio Bakery

Two entries for Radio Bakery, because I couldnt pick between their smoked salmon on an everything spice focaccia with cream cheese, and their tuna with lemon zest, pepperonicini on a stirato baguette. WATCH HERE

6) Katz’s & 2nd Ave Deli

Yes, I will always choose Katz’s pastrami over 2nd Ave, but I can’t deny that both are incredible always! WATCH HERE

7) Kasama

One of my favorite breakfast sandwiches ever! and a MUST everytime I’m in Chicago! On a potato roll they pile on a soft scramble, longanisa sausage, american cheese, and a hashbrown! WATCH HERE

8) Del Rossi

I finally completed my Philly Cheesesteak journey (i think) and the last one I tasted was easily one of the best, and that’s Del Rossi’s on their homemade seeded rolls! WATCH HERE

9) Mo Mortadella Lab

I was in Bologna, so I definitley had to get my fill of mortadella, and Mo Mortadella Lab, definitley satisfied with this monster sandwich on a crusty bread with mortadella, stracciatella, and a pistachio cream. WATCH HERE

10) Faiccos

For over 100 years Faiccos has been serving New Yorkers giant Italian sandwiches, and I LOVE their veal cutlet, broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone! WATCH HERE

Carta

Carta is a new Mediterranean inspired wine bar in the west village! Not only do they have an extensive list of wines from France, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, but a menu full of tapas like jamon serrano, sandwiches like a tomato and basil foccacia, and dessserts like a basque cheesescake!

Kancil

Recently opened, Kancil brings modern Malaysian cuisine to the Upper West Side! A “love letter” to the chefs home town, Tanjung Malim, standouts from the menu include Sarawak Laksa, which is a spicy noodle soup with prawns, Ayam Percik, which is a grilled marinated chicken with a rich, creamy, coconut gravy, and golden tilefish Chai Boey which is a tangy, spiced stew with golden tilefish and preserved mustard greens

Sweets & Things

Sweets & Things is a new bakery opening in Cypress Hills Brooklyn serving more than 30 flavors of Tres Leches, think ube, pistachio, pumpkin spice, and more! Along with Dominican coffee!

Gaming

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is easily my favorite game of the year, and has to be one of my favorite games ever! I’ve never even seen an Indiana Jones film, and I was sucked into the story immediatley! It looks beautiful, has just enough of a challenge, and I loved solving every puzzle the game throws at me! Play it now on Xbox or PC!, and available for free with Game Pass

TV

Season 2 of Squid Games just dropped, and while I haven’t finished yet, I’m three episodes in and totally re-hooked! I was definitley a little confused at first, because after a three year hiatus I realized I had forgotten most of what had happened in season 1, but after 1 episode in, I basically figured it out enough! Check it out on Netflix.
